"Deleted Scenes"

As an author, I often find opportunities to share excerpts from my books.  This usually related to marketing endeavors, or simply sharing among other authors our handiwork.  There is even a new FaceBook group that specializes in Historical Fiction Book excerpts: http://www.facebook.com/doug.boren.77#!/groups/HistoricalNovelExcerpts/

I have a new concept, however, that I will be featuring in my new E-zine The Alexander Chronicle.  I call it "deleted scenes".  Like in the movies this is what might have been included or not, but for some reason didn't make it to the finished product.  The "scenes" in my case are freshly written, never seen before, and available only to those who subscribe to the E-zine.

I personally think this concept is a welcome development in the world of book promotion.

In the above shown book, there is a very expanded "scene" that in the book takes up maybe two or three sentances.  In the deleted scene however, two whole pages are added.  This gives more depth to the story, its true, but its also not really necessary to the story.  Unlike the movies, where lots of film ends up on the cutting room floor, these scenes were never there in the first place.  They are given birth long after the fact.

What is this scene you ask? Ah, you'll have to sign up for The Alexander Chronicle to find out.  To do that, contact me here:  bboren1@carolina.rr.com
